Part 2 for the day
Well i am back for part 2. I gave my mom a call this afternoon, and said that it was a beautiful day to come and ride Poncho and she agreed. So needless to say it kind of gave me a reason to show off a bit of what i have been doing. This afternoon, my wonderful girl didnt even hesitate walking over the tarp, not even a second glance at it. Wow. I just pretended not to even notice the tarp and i guess she didnt even notice it as well. So then we worked a little on some figure 8's and it was ok but didnt go as well as the other day. It was just ok. Then we walked back over the tarp thinking it was just a fluke and its not. haha. she proved me wrong yet again, i love it. We played a bit around the bridge that i made and she yet again surprised me. The first attempt and well she was on it briefly with 2 feet, 2nd attempt she stood on it with the front feet and i was just happy about that, i didnt dare push it without having someone who knows the Parelli around. I dont want to lose any of Freya's confidence. Then to end this beautiful day, we decided to walk over to the tire, and to tell you the truth i dont know whose horse i have here because there was no reaction to it. She was almost a little lazy at this point. She stood with her feet right infront of the tire and well lifted her leg a little but well....that was just too much effort for today. I guess she just wanted to sun bathe today. lol
So i just came in from outside with the horses and remembered that there was a few things i forgot to mention on my last post. Freya also was touching everything. She was biting the edge of the barrels, and she had no problem playing tug of war with my carrot stick. I think she may be starting to play with me a little. Keri said that when i got her to trot, and she kicked up her heals a bit, she was playing, and i guess maybe she was playing with me. It kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. While i was out there this morning, i decided to grab a rope and a thingy to drag on the ground (you guys know the thingy) and i just dragged it everywhere. Between Freya and Poncho, behind Freya (not to close) and around Nigel, and no one seemed to care. I fed the hay on the tarp thinking maybe someone would go and stand on it to eat, which Nigel did, but Freya is big enough she didnt have to stand on it, she could just reach, lol. Anyway, we didnt do a whole lot of anything and on Tuesday, i am going to play with Freya for real. As soon as Ry gets on the bus i am going to play for a bit. Hopefully Jayda isnt awake yet otherwise she will be wherever she wants to be. The barn, or watching TV.

My parelli journey continues. What an incrediable day. Miss Freya and i were a great team. I had no intentions of doing my level 1 audition. Heck i wasn't even a Savvy member yet. I offered for Sue to play with Freya thinking maybe she would like play with her again and she said no right away, and said that there was no reason i couldn't do it. OK then i would do it. She is my horse of course :). Almost immediatley after we started on the friendly, Sue said that i should do my level 1 audition. After all Mrs. Standish had the video camera. lol. I him and hawed not thinking that i was good enough to do it, and just tried to forget about it. There was no way i felt good enough to do it and Sue knew how far to push me. After we played for a bit i thought the thought had left every ones mind......well it didn't. Rose tried to say that after lunch might be good, but Sue knew not. I later that night found out that my dear and wonderful friend Sue knew that if i let Freya go, there was no way i would do my audition. Smart isn't she. Anyway, it all come down to me actually doing it, and i was so thrilled to finally say i was Parelli. Freya and I had gotten through all of the requirements to pass this savvy in 6 minutes, wow. We are good. lol . Now that i am on this high, We come in for lunch and watch what we had done for our play day, and I decided it was time for me to become a Savvy member. It cant hurt right. It is only going to make the relationship between Freya and I that much better, and in time my confidence will be where it was a year and a half ago. When i had balance. lol.

OK so that was my blurb on my level 1 experience, now for what actually happened for the day. Freya and I started out with a little bit of Friendly. I know that i have to gain a little more confidence in her with the string. She did get better at the end, but i just don't think she is 100% comfortable with it. She is fine with the rubbing of the string, but when i throw it over her she seems just a little unsure. We then worked on the figure of 8 pattern around some barrels, and by George i think i have got the concept. She did 2 complete figure of 8's without even hesitating. Wooooooo. It was so cool. The tarp had my eye the whole time though. That is the one thing that i wanted to conquer. And.......we did. It was so awesome. Cant wait to see the video on that. My mouth was on top of the tarp, in awe, i cant believe this just happened. There she was standing on it with all 4 of those pretty little toes. It was a huge break through. Now for my next big task, i would like to get her to jump. Keri has had her jumping a few times but i want to do it now. There is a lot that i would like to be able to do and this tarp is just the first step to what we can get done. I think i am hooked with my mare from here on out. I cant see me offering for someone else to play with her from now on. She is my girl, and our journey really has just begun. I will however still use my friends to either show me or tell me what to try different, to get the task done. Like for intense. I couldn't get Freya to trot with me, so i let Keri attempt it, and she of course got it, but there wasn't any doubt that she wouldn't. So after a few tries with Keri it was my turn. And lo and behold i think i got better results than Keri ( i don't want to toot my own horn) but now that i understand a little better, i realize it really does come down to the relationship and Freya and i really do have more of a relationship than Keri and Freya. Over all it was an incredible day and i cant wait until the next play day. I really do have the best friends in the world. Rose who i always there to guide you and help you find another solution. Keri, wow what to say about Keri. I think Keri is like my best friend. She doesn't make you feel out of place, or uncomfortable at all, doesn't make you feel like you haven't a clue, which of course i do. That girl will make millions one day.
And Sue. Sue knows how to push me. She knows me the best and knows that if i put things off, i will never do them. She knows just how far she can push me, and everyone as a group, the support and confidence they have in me, i would hate to let them down. I have found myself my new best of friends who will take this journey with me.

Well well well, I can start by saying that i am busy trying to get the horsey area ready to go for winter blah. I have made and finished my bridge for them to walk on and my big tire is ready to be filled with dirt. Jay and i will fill it after lunch today. I will also get my electric fence rope ready not hooked up but ready. The barn is ready to go, with the water feeder filled and ready to be plugged in, it is clean well for the most part. The next thing i have to do is get my straw. And get it straightened out. Couple more things to do before the snow flies.
Anyway back to the topic of my blog, while i am outside doing everything My Freya is checking everything out. She walked right over to the bridge (after poncho was on it) and touched it and then snorted, i had a wee laugh about that, she didnt run from it at all. Just walked away. The next thing Jay and i did was fill that tire i was talking about. I had to shoosh them away and they just wouldnt go. They had to check out everything little move we made. LOL I then got my gate and i was hoping to get it set up, but i have to wait for a super spike before i can do that, or figure out where else to put it. That scared my girl quite a bit. She almost fell over on that one, but....after she figured it wasnt going after her she came back and touched it on the ground.
Last but not least I love her, she has changed so much. I can now walk right up to her and pet her on her head or neck, with no questions asked and she will stay there. I am rubbing her legs and trying to pick them up all from the same side. Got the front ones down pat, now i have to do the back ones, eek, all i will get there. So i didnt really play today, however she played by herself and i did some friendly just by walking around. Everytime she came around she would get another pat, or rub. Guess i should go back to work now.

They are slowly becoming Friends
What a good day on Friday. Wow. I was very impressed with Freya, maybe i should say i was impressed with me, but i was actually a little dissapointed in myself. We actually did quite a bit. I was working on my self assesment. We have almost finished our level 1, we probably have but there are a few things i want to work on before i say we are done. Circling is one thing i want to work on a lot and same as the figure of 8's. I guess we need to work on our sideways too. lol. Maybe i should just start from the top. We need to perfect everything, before i will be confident enough to say we are good. I guess the good news is is we played all the games today. Things i need to build. I would like to build a bridge and a gate that we can play with, when it comes to backing up. Keri and Sue had a wonderful play date as well. Sue played with Nigel pony and had him doing all kinds of things. She had no problem catching him but mostly hung out with him. She had him walking over the tarp and doing figure of 8's. I am not too sure what else she had him doing, but he did good, the kids even got involved. Ryland had no problem walking behind the pony and hugging his head and standing in front of him. Mommy on the other hand was ekkkkkkkkk. A ball of nerves. Jayda sat with Nigel and held on to him and petted him and hung out with him as well as she had no problem getting down and standing in front of him and petting him. As for Keri, any one reading this can go and check out her blog to find out the amazing things she did with Poncho. He was pretty amazing, and i think she really likes working with him. He is such a good boy. I guess this is it for now. I have to go and check out what she wrote about Poncho. LOL
